About Bachelor Only

Running a home on your own

Last updated August 13, 2026

We started Bachelor Only in 2023 for a simple reason: the writing we wanted to read about your first place, cooking for one, laundry & clothes mostly did not exist, and what did exist was selling something.

The tone we aim for is straightforward, unpatronising, quietly funny about mistakes — we assume you are intelligent, busy, and able to tell when you are being flattered.

What we cover

The site is organised into 6 sections:

  • Your First Place — Finding it, furnishing it, and the things you only need once you are in.
  • Cooking for One — Small-batch cooking, a workable pantry, and not eating the same thing nightly.
  • Laundry & Clothes — Washing, drying, ironing and making clothes last longer than a season.
  • Fixing Things — Basic tools and the repairs worth attempting before calling somebody.
  • Money & Bills — Rent, utilities, deposits and keeping the admin from piling up.
  • Routine & Upkeep — Cleaning rhythms, restocking and the systems that survive a bad week.

Who writes it

Every article carries a named writer with a profile page, and nothing is published anonymously. You can see the full list on our writers page.

How it is funded

We are advertising-funded and independently owned. No advertiser sees an article before publication, and none has ever been offered the chance. See the editorial policy.

Who publishes it

Bachelor Only is published by Onehand Publishing, a sole proprietorship of Pooja Bhat.
